The Thailand Film Office is an office under the Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Sports. Our main duty is to issue film permits for foreign film productions, to raise awareness of Thailand's uniqueness and diversity of film locations and to promote Thailand as a film-friendly destination.
Incentives / Service
- Qualification
- Foreign film productions which have already obtained the film permit for filming in Thailand from the Thailand Film Office.
- Eligibility Criteria
- Local spend in Thailand of at least 50 million Baht (approx. 1.5m USD), which must be spent in Thailand on Thai registered Businesses and other Thai services and individuals. TV commercials are NOT eligible for this incentive program.
- Incentive Measures
- 15-30% Cash Rebate
- Main Incentive
- 15% rebate on Thailand qualified spend with a minimum of 50 million Baht
- Additional Incentive

+ 5% - Rebate for a Thailand qualified spend of 100 - 150 million Baht
+ 10%- Rebate for a Thailand qualified spend over 150 million Baht
+ 5% - For production employing Thai nationals in key team positions.
+ 5% - For production promoting Thai tourism, Soft Power and a positive image of Thailand.
+ 3% - For production filming in designated provinces.
+ 3% - For production that engage post-production service in Thailand.
