The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) under the Office of the President is mandated to establish and undertake programs and activities that promote the growth and development of the local film industry, as well as to encourage the production of quality films and to conduct filmrelated events that enhance the skills of the Filipino talents. The agency also leads the film industry's participation in domestic and foreign film markets, and local and international film festivals. It is also tasked to preserve and protect films as part of the country's national cultural heritage. The Philippine Film Export Services Office (PFESO) is an office under the administrative and technical supervision of the FDCP, mandated to facilitate the institutionalization of a One-Stop-Shop System for Foreign Film/Television Production. It is through this office that the Philippines can establish a comparative advantage as a location site for international movie and television production to promote tourism, generate revenue and employment, and enhance the image of the country abroad.
